Rifle Mountain Park and Maple Canyon, again.

These are pictures from our last two climbing trips to Rifle Mountain Park and Maple Canyon.

The first set is from Maple Canyon in Utah, where we met up with Jon, Lisa and Ella again. We also met three other families there. Two were from Las Vegas, and one family was from Ogden, Utah. At one point, there were two 2 year olds, three 3 year olds, and one four year old all at the crag together. They had a ton of fun sharing toys and playing together.

I love this series, although the photos are not clear. Again, we didn't take our nice camera with us. Always a mistake. Jacob and Ella are walking up the road chatting. Ella is saying, "Did (and she'd name a friend) take the digger?" and Jacob would answer, "No." Over and over she'd ask the question with a different friend's name and Jacob would say, "No." It was really cute to watch because Jacob was being coy and Ella thought she was so funny.

Camping fun: Treasure Hunt copyright 2009 Jimmy Hock
A few times, Jimmy set a treasure hunt for the the kids using dollar store toys. He would draw a picture map and they would have to find the treasure (always hidden in shallow caves.)

Jacob and Ella conferring over the map.

On the way through the "dandelion forest."

I love this pic of Mia.

Mia and Ella. Ella is on lower ground, so Mia looks a lot taller.

Treasure: a.k.a. Booty!

Jacob and his map.

Hiking back with Dad.

Playing with new toys.

One day we went into town to swim. Mia and Jacob loved playing with the noodles. This summer they have started to swim. Mia jumps in and will swim a little underwater to Jimmy or me. Jacob will push off the ground and swim to one of us.

The kids love playing with the climbing chalk bag. Ella decided to "paint" her face.
Jimmy on "49" which his is first 5.12 to redpoint.

These pictures are from Rifle. Our camping spot was so scenic, right next to a small creek. Jacob and Mia loved playing in it, skipping rocks, pretending to fish, and throwing stones.
